Kaunakakai, Moloka'i

Kaunakakai, located on the island of Moloka'i, is a special experience that lives up to its reputation, "The Friendly Isle". It is the traditional birthplace of the hula. A historic walk tour of Kaunakakai Town is designed to help you appreciate the charm and sense of history Molokai offers. You're sure to encounter a friendly face and a shaka hand wave as you crass Ala Malama Street while shopping in a variety of stores that feature Moloka'i's best, including Moloka'i's white bread, taro chips, poi, honey and coffee.
Kaunakakai is home base of day trips when traveling to Papohaku Beach, Waikolu Preserve, Molokai Ranch Wildlife Park, Halawa Valley and Kalaupapa Historic Park. Moloka'i's visitors are rewarded with scenic wonders and a peaceful rural countryside.
